Hush

The road is long,
It will take our whole lives to travel.
So hush, and
let me hold your hand through
the change of seasons.

Should winter come,
unforgiving with cold wind,
Hush, and
let me hold you under the
blankets.

And in our spring,
let our hearts blossom as flowers do,
Hush, and
let me hold your hand in
an endless field of poppys.

Let summer come,
and as you become lethargic
from the tedious and sweltering days.
Hush, and
let me hold your tired heart with my own.

As autumn follows,
and you become unsure,
just as the leaves are unsure in the fall.
Just hush, and
let me hold your hand as
we walk into the unknown.

We will see many seasons
in our lives. For which we
can never prepare.
Hush, and
I will hold my soul
With yours.
